Introduction

Video editing used to mean two choices: pay for heavy desktop software and learn a mountain of menus, or use a free app that stamps its logo on your work.

VEED.io now sits somewhere different. It’s a browser-based platform where AI can create talking videos from a topic or script, alongside a regular editor for your own footage.

But AI video runs on credits, and the pricing is easy to misread. Here’s the honest breakdown for beginners and experienced creators.

Note: We reviewed VEED’s pricing, interface and credit system. With no credits left on our account, we couldn’t generate or export videos, so we haven’t tested output quality.

  • Not built for heavy, complex edits

What VEED Actually Is

VEED is a browser-based video platform with two routes. Create video generates a talking video from a topic or script, using a character, subtitles, music and your brand settings.

There’s even an option to clone yourself with your face and voice. Edit video is the classic editor for your own footage.

Its site also lists translation, dubbing, a teleprompter, and screen and webcam recorders. Nothing needs installing, but a patchy internet connection will slow you down.

VEED’s “Create video” page generates a talking video from a topic or script, with options for character, subtitles, music, and brand.

Also confirm in VEED’s help centre whether unused credits roll over. We saw third-party claims that annual credits reset and don’t carry forward, but we couldn’t verify it.

VEED Pricing: The Honest Numbers

VEED’s pricing page (checked October 11, 2026, with yearly billing selected) lists these plans, priced per user:

  • Free Plan
Start for free. Exports carry a watermark (Creator is the first plan listed as watermark-free). Third-party reviews mention 720p resolution and roughly a 10-minute limit—confirm current specifics on their page.
  • Creator Plan
$10/month (billed annually at $116). Includes 6,000 credits, watermark-free exports, unlimited auto-subtitles, the full audio/video catalogue, and 15+ AI tools.
  • Pro Plan
$21/month (billed annually at $257). Includes 30,000 credits, multiple brand kits, translation into 50+ languages, and up to 144 hours of AI voice per year.
  • Studio Plan
$35/month (billed annually at $414). Includes 180,000 credits, custom templates, and up to 960 hours of AI voice per year.
  • Enterprise Plan
Custom pricing tailored for teams, offering managed credits, advanced privacy controls, and dedicated support.

Monthly Billing Option
If you choose month-to-month billing instead of annual:
  • Creator: $20/month
  • Pro: $44/month
  • Studio: $70/month per user

(Note: Annual billing saves up to 51%, while monthly billing costs nearly double).

Watch Out for Credits

They’re the real limit. VEED’s page estimates about 1,500 AI videos on Creator, which works out to roughly 4 credits each.

But when we opened a template, generating that video was priced at 160 credits. At that rate, 6,000 credits is about 37 videos.

The page’s estimate must assume much cheaper generations, so check what your typical video costs before choosing a plan.

Generating this template video costs 160 credits. Our account showed 0 credits, so we couldn’t create it.

Features Worth Knowing

  • Auto subtitles: Unlimited on Creator, and a main reason many people sign up.
  • Talking videos from text: Type a topic or paste a script and pick a character. Credit costs vary, so check before generating.
  • Templates: Organised by use case, including Promo, Tips and How-To, Thought Leadership, Founder-led and Testimonial.
  • Brand kits: One on lower plans, multiple on Pro.
  • Translation: 50+ languages on Pro and Studio.
  • Audio and eye-contact tools: VEED lists clean-up and eye-contact tools, but we couldn’t confirm which plan includes each, so check before buying.

If You’re New to Video

Start on the free plan to learn the interface. Once you post publicly, Creator is the sensible first paid step: no watermark, subtitles and the media catalogue.

Templates are the quickest route to a polished look, but each one costs credits, so test one before assuming you can make dozens a month.

Skip Pro’s extras, such as AI voice hours and multiple brand kits, until you need them.

If You’re an Experienced Creator

Treat VEED as a speed tool, not a replacement for Premiere or DaVinci Resolve. Browser tools generally trade depth for convenience, so expect less control over multi-layer timelines and colour grading.

VEED’s value is the work around the edit: subtitles, shorts from long videos, fast client revisions and brand-consistent templates.

Watch how fast credits drain if you lean on AI generation, check storage and seat limits, and consider cutting in your main editor, then finishing captions and short clips in VEED.

What It Costs in Real Life

The weekend YouTuber

The free plan to learn, then Creator at $116 a year if you need subtitles and no watermark.

The Full-Time Short-Form Creator

Pro at $257 a year, if you’ll use the extra credits, languages and brand kits.

The Agency or Heavy AI User

Studio at $414 a year per user, but only if your credit use justifies it.

Prices are per user and quoted in US dollars, so check which payment options VEED accepts in your country.

How It Compares

CapCut, Descript and Kapwing are the usual alternatives. CapCut leans toward quick, mobile-friendly edits, Descript is built around editing video by editing text, and Kapwing is another browser editor.

VEED’s edge is combining AI video creation, captions and brand-consistent templates in one place.

Quick Questions

Is VEED really free?

You can start free, but the free plan adds a watermark, and our free account showed 0 credits, so it’s mainly for exploring.

Is Creator enough?

If you mostly need subtitles and watermark-free exports, yes. Move to Pro for more credits, translation and extra brand kits.

Is it cheaper to pay yearly?

Yes, by up to 51% according to VEED, but commit only after you’ve seen how fast you use credits.

Is VEED Worth It?

For new creators, start free and move to Creator when you publish. For busy creators and small teams posting weekly, Pro can pay for itself in saved hours if you’ll use the credits.

For editors who need deep control, treat it as a companion rather than your main suite. Whatever you pick, check the credit cost per video first, and try a month before committing to a year.
